The Youth Panel's activities include:

  • Experiencing a wide variety of art forms through workshops and classes.
  • Attending performances and visit other arts venues.
  • Learning new skills and develop their talents.
  • Creating and delivering a programme of arts events for young people.
  • Developing a dedicated cultural arts web site for young people.
  • Gaining valuable experience working behind the scenes within both organisations.
  • Informing and contribute to the decision making process within both organisations.
  • Benefiting from extensive training in youth governance and self determination.
  • Contributing significantly to the future development of the arts in Northern Ireland.

The Youth Panel also contribute to the development of the OMAC’s new Arts Centre, The MAC, which will be located in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter. The Youth Panel will be consulted at every stage of the process to ensure that the new centre is representative of their ideas and aspirations and is accessible to young people form all over Belfast and beyond.
